International Students

Welcome Foreign Students!

We understand you have different needs that require extra attention, especially from us. Our students come from, not only, South Africa but South/North America, Europe, Australasia and many countries across the African continent. So, wherever you come from in the world, your needs will be met from transferring you from the airport to your accommodation, helping you getting settled in, booking you into the flight school and, when you are finished, we will take you back to catch your return flight.

The South African Civil Aviation Authority is an ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) member, and flight training conducted in South Africa will count towards your requirements for JAA and FAA countries. South Africa boasts the second oldest air force in the world and is widely respected throughout the world for the quality of its training and theoretical standards.

This, coupled with the excellent flying weather conditions, and the high rate of exchange on the South Africa Rand (which makes your training costs very competitive) really makes South Africa, Durban, a viable option when selecting your training school.

JNC Helicopters would be pleased to make all the necessary arrangements for you to ensure your stay here is hassle free. We will collect you from Durban International Airport on your arrival, arrange car rental (if required), and book you into a guesthouse, bed and breakfast, or hotel of your choice. We will make all the appropriate arrangements for your aviation medical – chest X-rays etc.

Everything you may require during your stay is in close proximity to the flight school and your accommodation. There are many restaurants in the area, for all cultures, tastes and eating requirements.   There are a number of modern shopping centres including Gateway which offer an unequalled choice of world class retail and recreational activities. If keeping fit is your thing there is a Virgin Active Gym nearby offering temporary membership. Durban has excellent Hospitals & Medical Centres so medical care will never be too far away.

In your spare time take advantage of the excellent beaches, numerous inland excursions and huge variety of sporting activities. The Durban coastline is ideal for surfing, kite boarding, fishing, scuba diving, spear fishing or just simply snorkelling.
Within a couple of hours drive you can be within the heart of Zululand experiencing the most spectacular game safari (at the numerous game reserves in the area). Or travel inland to the world heritage Drakensberg Mountains.
