Ground School
GROUND SCHOOL
We will arrange for you to join a lecture class, usually meeting 4-5 evenings a week for 2 weeks, which will cover the full PPL theory syllabus, ensuring a thorough grounding in basic aviation theory. The examination must be sat within 30 days of your final flight test and a helicopter technical and general theory exam during the course of your training.
PPL Subjects :
- Navigation
- Aircraft technical General
- Metrology
- Flight performance and planning
- Human performance
- Air law
- Engine and Airframes
Once you have your PPL(H), you may carry passengers, but not for financial gain. To draw income from flying you will need a Commercial Helicopter Licence. This requires a total of 200 flying hours, the passing of the commercial examinations laid out by the Directorate for Civil Aviation examinations board, and the completion of a practical flight test carried out by a CAA examiner.
